Editorial & Calculation Accuracy Policy
Our standards for mathematical precision, craft research, and transparent AI boundaries.
1. Mathematical Transparency & Formulas
Every calculator published on Nexsus Space displays its underlying formula, unit definitions, and step-by-step logic directly on the page. We test our algorithms against physical swatch samples and Craft Yarn Council standards to ensure high reliability.
2. Nature of Textile Approximations
Crochet is a flexible, three-dimensional handcraft. No two crocheters hold the yarn with identical tension, and two hooks marked “5.0mm” from different manufacturers can vary by fractions of a millimeter. Consequently, all blanket dimensions, stitch estimations, and yardage outputs are close engineering approximations rather than guaranteed absolutes. We always advocate adding a 10% safety buffer and making a 5x5 inch blocked swatch.
3. AI Transparency & Verification Standards
Our AI tools (Project Planner, Troubleshooter, Yarn Substitution Assistant, and Pattern Assistant) process user-provided inputs to generate structured drafting outlines and diagnostic suggestions. We never present AI-generated instructions as human-tested patterns. All AI-generated content is clearly flagged with an advisory notice urging makers to check gauge, stitch counts, and construction mechanics before beginning.
4. Corrections & Errata Policy
If a formula error, terminology ambiguity, or conversion discrepancy is discovered, our technical team updates the codebase immediately. Users can report inaccuracies via our Contact page.
